Genies & Gems is a whimsical match-3 mobile game developed in-house at Jam City as an original IP. Set in a colorful fantasy world of genies, treasures, and evolving puzzle challenges, I was part of the project from its earliest concept through production.

As a Senior 2D Artist on Genies & Gems, I created a wide range of polished illustrations and in-game assets to support both gameplay and marketing. My work included high-quality marketing art, story transition illustrations, collectible game pieces, and various UI and visual elements. I collaborated closely with the marketing and game teams to ensure a cohesive visual style across all touch points.

This collection showcases my contributions to Genies & Gems, including in-game content and marketing artwork supporting player engagement.

Marketing Art

I created these marketing illustrations to attract players across social media and digital ads, with a focus on energetic, expressive characters that feel exciting and clickable. I also contributed to font selection and text design to reinforce clarity, hierarchy, and brand consistency.

Assets were delivered in flexible formats so the marketing team could easily adapt them for a wide range of ad placements and campaigns.

Game Board

As Senior Artist on Genies & Gems, I helped define the visual language for the game’s foundational pieces, including tiling dirt blockers, the rainbow power piece, and multiple blocker systems. Match-3 blockers present unique challenges due to layered states and the need to clearly communicate progression across multiple break phases.

A key focus was maintaining strong readability at small mobile scale, balancing visual richness with clean silhouettes, contrast hierarchy, and clear state transitions to support fast, intuitive gameplay.

These are images of the game pieces I created on the game board in action.

I created these concept images to establish visual direction for in-game effects, providing the tech art team with clear creative guidance and reference as they implemented and refined effects on the game board.

Story Illustrations

I created these narrative illustrations to strengthen storytelling, character context, and overall world-building within the game. They appeared as you progressed through the game.
